For Greek People, and also for Korean People

According to some news media the other day, Greece’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was going to request compensation of World War II from Germany as one way of negotiation on its finance. Now let me predict what will happen from now on. I’m sorry, but my words will without doubt realize because I know how Germans feel.

From now on Prime Minister Merkel will not make even the smallest compromise to Greece. This means that Greece has only two choices; completely accepting the plan of EU without changing a word of it, or just exiting from EU, or at least Euro. In the latter case, the economic situation of Greece will be much worse than now or than that of the former case.

Why will Merkel not make the smallest compromise? The reason is that Germany is a democratic country. However powerful Merkel is, she cannot ignore opinions of Germans. And now Germans, who have apologized about World War II many times, who have compensated for its damages, and who have contributed to the peace of the world for 70 years, cannot just smile calmly, facing such an absurd request.

In short, the strategy of Tsipras was the worst one. The request itself made Germans mad. The request itself made it impossible for Germany to compromise. My advice for friends in Greece is to dismiss him and withdraw it. Actually, that’s the only way for Greece. Otherwise it will go directly to the hell.

Why do I know how Germans feel? Because I am Japanese, that’s all. That’s exactly what Japanese people always feel. Everything, including that we have apologized many times, that we have compensated its damages, and that we have contributed to the peace of the world for 70 years, is just the same.
